General codes are included in the codes of several software components, in which case you can refer to this section.
Some extra characters are used to describe the syntax.

Characters are used in codes and have the following meaning (unless stated differently):

The spaces used in the coding standards are only included for readability. For example, the coding standard for a DAL is ppmmmsxx, which will be represented as

The following values are possible:

ccc: Customization type
In case of standard software or modifications derived from standard software, the customization type is 000 or left blank. For new modifications to the standard, the first two positions must be 00 and the last position must contain one of the following values:

h: Short customization type
In some instances it is sufficient to use one of the characters (o, c, l, j, d, b) in the last position of the customization type.
s: Submodule code
In the case of new modifications to the standard, use one of the following characters:

New modifications to the standard are not derived from an existing standard software component, but are entirely new.
