6.1.2 Package combination
A package combination contains several different packages. For every package in the package combination, the version (VRC) must be specified. A package combination can be linked to one or more users and to one or more companies. A package combination can contain only one VRC per package. In fact, a package combination links users to a certain version of BAAN IV software. This is how software environments are created. Examples of software environments are
Software environment Description
Standard environment A package combination which contains standard BAAN IV package VRCs and is created at the moment of installation.
Life environment A package combination which contains package VRCs that are used by normal users.
Development environment A package combination which contains package VRCs in which a developer can create customizations.
Test environment A package combination which contains package VRCs with customizations that must be tested.
