SCA Engine 2.1 installation
SCA Engine enables you to perform data migration of legacy systems to any SSA system. The input of SCA Engine is the Object Packs generated by the SCA Studio. You can install SCA Engine on a Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, or a Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system. For more information on the installation process of the SCA Baan Conversion Engine specific to the SSA ERP conversion combination, and the installation process of Logic Packs, which provide SCA Conversion Logic, refer to the respective Installation Guides.

This chapter describes the prerequisites to install the SCA Engine 2.1 on a
Windows-based server and client systems that access the SCA Studio
application. You must configure the other system configurations before you
start the installation.
Hardware requirements
The following table lists the minimum hardware requirements to host SCA
Engine 2.1 in client machine. SSA Global recommends the higher
configuration for better performance, depending upon the data size and
mode of migration:

operating systems for SCA Engine 2.1:
· Windows 2000 Professional
· Windows XP Professional

To install SCA Engine 2.1
To install SCA Engine 2.1 on any client machine, take the following steps:
1 Download the media of SSA Conversion Adapter from the software store.
2 Unzip the files to a folder on the machine on which you want to install the SCA Engine.
3 Double-click SCA 2.1.3.exe to run the program. The SCA Engine InstallShield Wizard starts and the Extracting Files dialog box appears. This wizard reads the package contents and extracts the file required to install SCA Engine on your computer.

The SCA Engine setup prepares the InstallShield Wizard:

When the extraction is complete, the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard
for SCA Engine dialog box appears:

4 Click Next to continue. The Choose Destination Location dialog box appears:

5 Specify the destination folder where you want to install SCA Engine. You can either click Next to accept the default folder, C:SCA21, or click Browse to manually specify the destination folder.
6 Click Next. The Start Copying Files dialog box appears:

7 Review the settings before you copy the files. If the current settings are correct, click Next to start to copy the files. To change or review any old settings, click Back. The Setup Status dialog box appears:

The setup now starts and installs the program files in the specified path. A progress bar shows the progress of the setup.
When the setup is complete, the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box
appears which informs you that the setup has finished installing SCA Engine:

8 Click Finish to complete the installation tasks.
