Post-Installation Process
This chapter describes the post-installation procedure. This chapter also describes how to change Internet Explorer (IE) browser security and cache pages-related settings on the server and all the client machines. You must complete this procedure before you access the SCA site.
Client machine settings
The following sections describe the settings that you must configure on the machines that access the SCA Web site.
Browser (IE6.x) settings
Before you access the SCA site, you must change the Internet Explorer settings. SCA uses active X controls to provide a rich user-interface experience for users. The default security settings prevent you from downloading and running active X controls. Therefore, users must change the security settings of IE for the intranet. To change your intranet security settings on Internet Explorer, take the following steps:
1 On the Start menu, click Settings ->Control Panel and click Internet Options. The Internet Properties dialog box appears:
Figure 6-1: Internet Properties dialog box
2 Click the Security tab.
3 Click Local intranet in the Select a Web Content Zone… area to specify the security settings.
4 Click Custom Level option.
The Security Settings dialog box appears:
Figure 6-2: Security Settings dialog box
5 Select all the options as Enable under ActiveX Controls and Plug-Ins and click OK. The following warning message appears, which asks you to confirm that you want to change the security settings:

6 Click Yes to close the message and finish the security settings for the intranet.
7 Click the General tab and click Settings to open the Settings dialog box:

8 Click Every Visit to the Page under Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages.
9 Click OK to close the Settings and Internet Properties dialog boxes.
10 Close all the instances of Internet Explorer and reopen Internet Explorer to activate the new settings.
Temporary folder settings
You must create a temporary folder under the root directory of C: to enable IE browser to function correctly while accessing the SCA Web site, for example: <system drive>temp
SCA server-side settings
Because the SCA Studio must access all the system resources, the user that the Web site uses must have full permissions. To provide full access rights, you must create and add a local windows user to the administrator group. Finally, you must use this user in the Web site. To perform this task, you must have administrative privilege on the server. The following procedure describes the steps to create and add a local windows user to the administrator group. In this guide, the local user you create is assumed to be
sca. To create a local user, take the following steps:
1 Right-click the My Computer icon in the desktop and, on the shortcut menu that appears, click Manage to open the Computer Management window as shown in the following figure:

2 Expand Local Users and Groups in the left pane, and click Users.
3 On the Action menu, click New User to create a new user.
The New User dialog box opens:

Take the following steps to add the user to the administrators group:

take the following steps:

SSA Baan Windows & FAT Client settings
This setting is applicable only if you migrate data from an SSA Baan application to other products or to a new release of SSA Baan. Otherwise, ignore these settings.
Install SSA Baan Windows
To install SSA Baan Windows, take the following steps:
1 Install SSA Baan Windows version 5.0c [Corelli] in the SCA Server.
2 Add the entry %SystemRoot%WINNTBaanbin path to the System
environment variable PATH. To add this path, take the following steps:
· Right-click My Computer ??Properties.
· Click the Advanced tab
· Click the Environment Variables tab.
· In the System Variables group box, click Path -> Edit.
Verify and simulate specific settings
The Verify functionality enables you to verify the conversion rules for any syntax errors. The Simulate option extracts the data from the source environment, applies the conversion rules, and displays the results. You can use the Simulate option to determine the run-time errors, if any. This option also analyzes the output to check for any logical errors. You must specify the settings for these features, depending on your source application. 1 You must perform a Fat client/porting set installation on the SCA server that points to the real SSA Baan Source server. For more details on the installation process of a Fat client, refer to Appendix A.
2 Copy the following files from the <SCA Studio 2.1 Installation Path>tmp
folder to the <SSA Baan FAT Client Installation Path>tmp folder:
· Verify.obj
· Simulate.obj
· Test.obj
·
Note: During verify/simulate, SCA uses the logged-in user name [SCA user name] to connect to the actual Source Baan server. For this purpose, you must have the following set up:
· The SCA user name and the real Source Baan Server login name for a user must be same.
· For each of the SCA users, the remote user file, for the SSA Baan Source Server, must be present for the user in <Fat Client Installation Path>/lib/user. If this file is not found, SCA uses the user name entered in the working migration profile. Therefore, the r<user> file must be present for this default user. If a user changes the password in the Baan Server, the user must update the r<user> file in the SCA server, as well.
· For more information on how to create the r<user> file and test the FAT client installation, refer to Appendix A in this document.
Upload field descriptions-specific settings
The data model of a particular SSA Baan release is stored in the SCA under the master data called Applications. Users have the option to upload the descriptions of the table fields. To upload the field descriptions, set up the following:
1 If the SSA Baan source application is an SSA Baan IVc4 or earlier release, copy the <SCA Installation Path>tmploaddescriptions-b4getdesc.o file to the user’s home directory in the SSA Baan Server, which is later used to upload the field descriptions.
2 If the SSA Baan source or the target application is an SSA Baan ERP 5.0b or later release, copy the <SCA Installation Path>tmploaddescriptionsb5 getdesc.o file to the home directory of the user in SSA Baan Server. The user login is used to connect SSA Baan host to upload the field descriptions to SCA server
