The following list provides several important points:
1. The SCA Baan Engine 2.0 is available only in English. A separate SCA Baan Engine 2.0 executable is available for UNIX and Windows NT environments
2. Own customizations, Baan localizations, and extensions are not supported. However, this guide explains how the user can incorporate the data model customizations into SCA Baan Engine 2.0.
3. This conversion software does not handle integrations with external software.

Default company for the migration user
1. Data Migration Tool requires that the companies be the same across SSA Baan IVc4 and SSA ERP LN 6.1
2. The tool establishes a link between SSA ERP LN 6.1 and SSA Baan IVc4 through the Conversion (bccnv0201m000) session and, during this process, runs the SSA Baan IVc4 remotely through SSA ERP LN 6.1
3. The default company of the user can be set in the Maintain User Data (ttaad2100m000)(RUN session) session in SSA Baan IVc4:
4.On the Special menu, click Convert to Runtime Data Dictionary.
5.To put this change into effect, the user must log off from SSA Baan IVc4 and log on again
Data set backup
keep up of the dataset
UTC
1.SSA Baan IVc4 bshell must have the UTC patch available throughout Baan. This patch is installed before you begin the data migration process.
SSA Baan IVc4 and SSA ERP LN 6.1 on same machine
1.The SSA Baan IVc4 environment variable Baan_TZ_DIR must
be set to $BSE of SSA ERP LN 6.1.
2.You must set this variable because the UTC functions use the zoneinfo and zonerules files in the $BSE/lib/zoneinfo of SSA ERP LN 6.1. UTC functions in Baan (Baan Programmers Manual.)
SSA Baan IVc4 and SSA ERP LN 6.1 environments on separate Machine
1. SSA Baan IVc4 bshell is created on the SSA ERP LN 6.1 server to dump the SSA Baan IVc4 data
2. The SSA Baan IVc4 environment variable Baan_TZ_DIR must be set to $BSE of SSA ERP LN 6.1.
3.You must set this variable because the UTC functions use the zoneinfo and zonerules files in the $BSE/lib/zoneinfo of SSA ERP LN 6.1. UTC functions in Baan (Baan Programmers Manual.)
4. copy the ${BSE}/lib/zoneinfo and ${BSE}/lib/zonerules directories from the SSA ERP LN 6.1 server to the local SSA Baan IVc4 server to a convenient path after you create a lib directory on the server
5. Set the variable Baan_TZ_DIR to the path name.
Read-write permissions
1. During conversion, some file input-output operations are undertaken.
2. Created at the operating-system level files are .dat, .log, .ctl, .bad and so on, which are created in the $HOME directory of the user
3. Given the proper read/write permission for the directory in which the data is being dumped, as well as the $HOME directory.
BW configuration (NT requirement)
1. Set two environment variables to enable connectivity between the SSA Baan IVc4 environment and the SSA ERP LN 6.1
environment:
a) B4BW: Set this variable to the SSA Baan IVc4 BW path installed on the local machine
b) B4SHELL: You must set this variable to the SSA Baan IVc4 bshell name (SSA Baan IVc4 installed on the server).
command : you must enter the following command: set B4BW=C:Baan4 -set B4SHELL=bshell_env1
here BW is installed in the C:Baan4 directory and Baan IVc4 bshell name is bshell_env1
2. a) If you perform dumping and loading simultaneously, you must set these parameters in the SSA ERP LN 6.1 BW configuration window only
b) If dump only you must set these parameters in the SSA Baan IVc4 BW configuration window, as well.
Installation procedure for bc(Baan Conversion package) components on SSA Baan IVc4
Step-by-Step procedure installation of the BC components in the SSA Baan IVc4 environment.
