Upgrade existing SCA Studio to SCA Studio 2.1
Before you install the SCA Studio 2.1, you must uninstall all the previous installations of SCA, because two versions of SCA Studios cannot coexist on
the same server. To uninstall an existing version of SCA Studio, take the following steps:
1 Reset the SCA Web site: on the Start menu, click Run… ->iisreset.
2 Remove the existing SCA: on the Start menu, click Settings ->Control Panel and double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3 Under Currently Installed Programs, select the SCA Studio and click Change/Remove.
4 Start the SCA2.1 installation program. For information, refer to Chapter 3,”Prerequisites.”
The uninstallation does not remove your SCA database in the database
server. This provides you with the opportunity for you to reuse the conversion
rules build, using the existing SCA Studio. If your existing SCA Studio uses
database SCA21, make a complete backup of this database before you
proceed with the new SCA Studio installation.
Reuse data from the previous instance of SCA Studio
SCA Studio 2.1 installer creates the SCA21 database in the Microsoft SQL Server. Therefore, if your existing SCA installation also uses the SCA21
database, you must make a complete backup of this database before you install the new SCA Studio 2.1.
After you install the new SCA Studio 2.1, you can use the DTS Wizard to copy data from the earlier SCA database to the SCA 2.1 database. If your
former SCA database was also SCA21, create a new database, SCA-old, from the backup you made. The process to perform the DTS wizard
execution consists of the following steps:
1 Start the DTS Wizard: on the Start menu, click Programs ->Microsoft SQL Server ->Import and Export Data. The following screen appears:

2 Click Next to continue. The Choose a Data Source dialog box appears.
