The Chart Manager Application business object
This chapter describes the Chart Manager Application business object and gives information about the business object’s functions. In addition, the chapter identifies and explains the sessions related to the business object. Related parameters are mentioned where applicable.
Description of the Chart Manager Application
Data can be sent from a BAAN IVTRITON session to the Chart Manager. Authorizations and preferences can be assigned to each user in a chart application to define functionality by user. The Chart Manager Application is linked to a BAAN IVTRITON session (see Figure 3-1).
Many chart applications can be linked to one BAAN IVTRITON session. At runtime, the system will prompt for the chart application to be used.

Sessions to modify a chart application
Figure 3-2 shows the procedure which must be followed for the chart data to be sent properly by a BAAN IVTRITON session to the Chart Manager. The Maintain Option Sets (ttchm1130s000) and Maintain Window Preferences (ttchm1132s000) sessions are activated from the Maintain Chart Manager Application Data (ttchm1100m000) session. The Chart Manager (ttchm1200m000) session is activated by pressing [Y] at the Choice field (ASCII) of the Maintain Chart Manager Application Data (ttchm1100m000) session, or by selecting the corresponding option from the Application drop-down menu. The Maintain Chart Type List (ttchm1150m000) and Maintain Chart List (ttchm1140m000) sessions are activated from the Chart Manager session.
Figure 3-2 Define Chart Manager Application
Maintain Chart Application Data (ttchm1100m000)
A chart application is used to specify authorizations, preferences, and default charts that can be used in BAAN IVTRITON chart sessions. In this session, the following parameters can be defined:
n default chart type
n authorizations to modify data
n user-defined options
n window color settings
A chart application is linked to a package VRC, which means that all attributes specified in the chart application can be customized. The user must have developer’s authorization for that specific package VRC.
Maintain Option Sets (ttchm1130s000)
In the Chart Manager module, attributes, data and other chart features can be modified. Authorizations can be specified by user to restrict the components that users can modify.
Maintain Application Options (ttchm1120s000)
An Application menu is available on the menu bar of the Chart Manager. This menu allows a user to start sessions or processes. These actions must be programmed in the script and are further described in the Programming (777377US) book.
Maintain Window Preferences (ttchm1132s000)
This session is used to set the window preferences for the Chart Manager module by user. The chart foreground and background colors are specified, as well as the button colors. The Chart Manager must be restarted to make the changes active.
Chart Manager (ttchm1200m000)
The Chart Manager (ttchm1200m000) session is activated by entering a [Y] at the Choice field (ASCII) of the Maintain Chart Manager Application Data (ttchm1100m000) session, or by selecting the corresponding option from the Application drop-down menu. The next two sessions are accessible only through this session.
Maintain Chart Type List (ttchm1150m000)
The chart types for the application are entered in this session. When the chart is called from a BAAN IVTRITON session, the user will see the chart types entered in this session. Users must be granted authorization in the Maintain Option Sets (ttchm1130s000) session to be able to display the chart types. Chart types can be imported from other applications using the Select Chart Type To Import (ttchm1550s000) session.
Maintain Chart List (ttchm1140m000)
The charts for the application are entered in this session. A chart is a set of data presented in a graph. This set includes items, such as titles, footnotes, legends, axes, and the chart type with attributes. Existing charts may be imported using the Select Chart to Import (ttchm1540s000) session.
